Wake Me Up When September Starts

Whole Bunch of Updates and News!

We’re back, Geese! The Flock took a much needed and well deserved break for August but we’re rested and we’re refreshed and we’re hydrated and we’re ready for action! We’ve got some big news, we’ve got some big changes, and we’ve got some big plans, so buckle up, my dearies.

  1. ISSUE SIX! WEE WOO WEE WOO WEE WOO!!! Issue Six is on the Horizon! Submissions open September 1st, and if my calculations are correct, which I’m sure that they are, that’s today!! That’s right, Geese. Submissions are open for Issue Six RIGHT NOW! SUBMIT YOUR WHIMSY! SUBMIT YOUR CRAFT! WE WANT TO READ IT!!!

  2. Speaking of submissions (call me a mall security guard the way I’m a master of the segway), we are switching to Submittable! As much as we loved getting hundreds and hundreds of emails every submission period, we figured it would make things FAR easier for all involved if we made the switch! All the information you need is available on our website’s submission page!

  3. We’ve got not one, not three, but TWO MINI-ISSUES coming your way soon. As the nights get longer and the days get colder, we want to ring in the season with Goose-Bumps, a spooky mini-issue. Halloween has always had a silly side, and we want pieces that celebrate the whimsy in horror! Additionally, in honor of our favorite private-jet-setting musician’s engagement and newest album, we want your T Swift inspired glitter gel pen poetry — The Life of a Show Goose, SGP’s second mini-issue of the season, is also coming soon.

    1. Important note! The Life of a Show Goose will be poetry only! For Goose-Bumps, we want ALL genres!

    2. Submissions for both Mini-Issues will open October 1st and will close on October 13th! More information will be on our Submissions page as we get closer, so keep a weather eye on the horizon.

  4. SGP is headed to AWP Baltimore! Our EIC, Lexi, is moderating a panel that is sure to be a big ole hit, and we’re working on setting up an after-hours event! An “SGP After Dark,” if you will. A “Silly Goose Souire,” if you will. Or, for your consideration, perhaps a “Silly Goose Salon.” Look out for more news about these exciting events as AWP draws nearer.

And with that, dearest Geese, I welcome The Flock back to the pond! Send us your pieces! Let’s get Silly!!!

XOXO,

The Flock
