Hello Geese! Happy May!

I hope you’ve been honking loud and sniffing all those spring flowers. I’ve got a few updates for you today so let’s dive right in!

Submissions are open for our PRIDE OUT LOUD Mini Issue!

We’re accepting work by queer artists of all genres from May 1 - May 15. You can check out our website HERE for guidelines, and our Submittable HERE to share your work with us. All accepted pieces will have an audio component this mini, so keep that in mind as you decide which piece(s) might be a good fit!

Upcoming Pub Dates!

SGP Issue Seven is coming right along with plans to hatch on July 23! We’re working our way through your submissions and are, as always, so honkin’ blown away by your wonderful words and amazing artworks!

In addition to Issue Seven, we’ll also be producing another featured poetry web series: Silly Summer Web Series!

A Very Silly Goose Salons Summer

We’ve got so many cool events rolling out this summer through Silly Goose Salons. Take a gander at our summer calendar or sign up for a membership HERE. You can also purchase tickets to individual events, linked below!

WRITE IN — Write, Write, Goose! Saturday, May 16 at 2pm ET (11am PST)

Join The Flock for an hour of dedicated writing time. We’ll have prompts if you need ‘em, and enough moral support to rally you through that thing you keep putting off that you really want to write.

WORKSHOP — Lexi’s (rescheduled) Poetry Workshop: The Practice of Noticing - Saturday, May 30 at 2pm ET (11am PST)

Join EIC Lexi Rosen for a 2-hour poetry workshop devoted to the practice of noticing. We’ll be workshopping your poems, focusing less on what “works” and more on what’s present on the page. Our practice of noticing will help you bring your subconscious work to the surface in order to make intentionally bolder choices as you revise. This is a workshop for writers of all kinds and calibers, whether you’ve been writing for decades or just picked up the pen last week. We’ll break down the craft and return to basics to demystify the magic of poetry.

PANEL — On Literary Friendship — June 20 at 2pm ET (11am PST)

Literary Friendship is at the heart of Silly Goose Press, and we are SO excited to welcome three amazing writers (and friends!) to chat about how their community has impacted their creative pursuits. In this hour-long conversation, Tashie Bhuiyan, Chloe Gong, and Christina Li will talk about how they met, the role of literary friendship in their careers, and what it takes to form a supportive writerly community.

So much to look forward to this summer, we can hardly flockin’ stand the wait! Will we see you around the pond for any Salons events? We hope so!

honks + kisses,
Lexi + The Flock
